Dick Strellman, who established his jewelry line in 1948, walked into our shop a year after we opened. We were unfamiliar with his line, specifically the dramatic lens cut stone for which he was noted. He told us we needed his jewelry (Dick is an extrovert who loves life, doesn’t mince words). To prove his point he left us a small sampling of 9 rings with brilliant orange padparaschah stones (flame sapphire). Within a week we had sold 5 rings, and this was during our off season. The innovative lab designed cuts of Strellman have become a mainstay of our inventory; both natural and created stones remain popular with our customers. Being a local Oregon based company, we can testify to the care and price of each dramatic piece created.
